Feeding Fury Review

Whenever we see a new fish slot we automatically assume it’s gonna be either a Fishin’ Frenzy or Big Bass Bonanza copycat, or perhaps a mix of both. This is far from the case with Iron Dog Studios’ Feeding Fury, however, although they have clearly found inspiration in Push Gaming releases like Razor Shark (for the visuals), and the ‘Fat’ series for the bonus round. It’s not really a copycat release, however, as it stands firmly enough on its own sealegs.

The cartoonish visual presentation comes with entertaining animations, and you get to meet many different sea creatures in this release. All of them seem hungry, and the Shark Attack feature can strike out of the blue to give you walking wilds with possible multiplier upgrades. The Feed or Die Bonus Round comes with a hungry shark eating cash fish, and growing in size as you increase the win multiplier per level up.

Feeding Fury Slot Features

The premium symbols pay between 3 and 10 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and you can land the Shark Wild on all 5 reels. It steps in for pay symbols to help complete wins, and it also pays up to 15x your stake should you land 5 on a payline. The wild does not substitute for any special symbols, however, just to be clear.

You get a randomly triggered Shark Attack feature in the base game, and the Shark Wilds swim to the left while gobbling up any fish that is unfortunate enough to stand in their way.

If a shark wild crosses paths with another shark wild on the same row, the wild multiplier is increased.

You need 3, 4, or 5 game logo scatters in view to trigger the Feed or Die Bonus Round, and this gives you 3, 4, or 5 lives, respectively. You will land crab symbols that serve as inedible blanks during the feature, and the Collector Shark in the middle eats/collects all fish symbols. This awards the cash prize per fish each time, and all fish are always collected no matter where they land.

A life is lost each time you land nothing but inedible Crab symbols, and the cash fish also add points to a collection system seen on the right-hand side. You need to collect a certain number of points in the same round to level-up via this system, and there are 3 levels as follows:

  • Level 1 comes with a 1x1 sized Collector Shark.
  • Level 2 comes with a 2x2 sized Collector Shark, and you get a global win multiplier of x2 that boosts all collected cash fish.
  • Level 3 comes with a 3x2 sized Collector Shark, and you get a global win multiplier of x5 that boosts all collected cash fish.

Reaching level 3 unleashes the Hammerhead Shark, and whenever it lands anywhere in view it increases the global win multiplier by x2 when eaten by the Collector Shark. The Feed or Die Bonus Round goes on as long as you have lives left in your tally, or until you reach the win cap.

The 200 Spins Feeding Fury Slot Experience

You get to see the Shark Attack feature in the base game, before we run into a patch of mostly dead spins.

Review Summary

First of all, it was highly refreshing to try a different kind of fish slot, as we feared yet another Big Bass Bonanza copycat being dropped into the already oversaturated genre. Iron Dog Studio has clearly been inspired by Push Gaming’s Razor Shark when it comes to the visuals, and you get fun animations all the way. The random Shark Attack feature can lead to decent base game payouts, but the big highlight is undoubtedly the Feed or Die round.

We are not sure if we like the wormhole spiral in the middle position though, where the Collector Shark sits, as it comes across as a bit incongruent. It’s there to teleport the shark anywhere, we get that, but it would’ve been more fun to just see the shark swim around and eat everything that moves. Anyway, there is an element of Push Gaming’s ‘Fat’ range baked into this game as well, but it can be hard to even reach level 2. The 5,434x potential is decent enough for a medium to high volatility release, and we had a pretty good time with Feeding Fury at least.

Pros

  • Shark Attack walking wilds w/ multiplier upgrade
  • 3-tier Feed or Die FS w/ Shark Collector prizes
  • Win up to 5,434x your stake

Cons

  • Beware of adjustable RTP ranges
Feeding Fury: Slot Verdict As far as fishing slots go, and there are a lot of them, Feeding Fury is quite unique. For one, it doesn't use angler symbols to. The most gorgeous visuals enhanced by high-latency animations capture players' imagination and keep it hostage spin after spin. Feeding Fury is an exceptional.
